If the items are in Maine self storage facility and you have legal right to the property by being an heir or owner of the facility and you are past the waiting period.

- You must have a state id with your photo that is not expired and has your current address on it. If your ID doesn't have your current address a vehicle reg, fishing or hunting license, concealed carry permit, or current home property tax bill. They need to be presented to us.

When will we not come to you?

​

If you have only a few low value items that are not worth the gas coming to you. We may decline if there are no firearms involved unless the items you have are worth traveling for. You want too much for the items which makes traveling not worth it Due to the price of gas and my truck only getting 15 miles to the gallon not hauling a trailer it has to be worth it. You also have our time as well.

Who will be coming to my house?

Fred the owner is the only one you will have in your house no one else. No friends or buddies. We value your privacy. We will not discuss anything about the property or its content to anyone else. We don't want your property broken into. Fred is an honest father and grandfather. He is a christian and can be trusted.

Will you need help getting around when we are there? Fred's daughter has experience working for organizations that take care of the elderly and disabled. She may be able to come at the same time. ​

We can come hours that are outside of the hours above depending on availability and travel time. Sometimes the shop is busy at the end of the day and we do not get out until 6pm. Evenings can be hard if you are not local.

We do have knowledge of tools, antiques, old fishing gear, and old sporting and power equipment (including old boats, snowmobiles, ATVs and much more. Even if we are not interested in buying them we can give you direction or maybe know someone that is interested. We have contacts that deal in property clean out also.

You will preserve old, antique, historical, or collectible firearms for future generations. Rifles, shotguns, old collectible revolvers or pistols rarely are use in crimes. The ATF traces that I am sent for firearms related crimes mostly involve newer low cost semi auto pistols and sometime an occasional mid range priced semi auto pistol. Rifles, Shotguns, Old or collectible handguns are seldom seen in these traces. Criminals want cheap disposable firearms mostly semi auto handguns. Most of the firearms relinquished to police would never be used in crimes. The firearms will either go to a yearly police, town or city property auction and they will be resold or destroyed depending on the department, town, or city. Those that are destroyed most of the parts are resold to keep other firearms going. We know the company well that destroys these firearms and sells everything except for the receiver. Some are upset that the whole firearm is not destroyed however if that does occur the police dept, town, or city must pay to have them destroyed since they will not make any money off selling the parts. Some melt down whole firearms but this is not as common,

 

I beg you to atleast sell or dispose of the old, antique, historical, or collectible firearms and other items to us instead of turning them in to the police. I am a collector and history buff I want to preserve the older firearms for future generations.

Why sell to us instead of though a generalized auction company in Maine?

 

We specialize in firearms, ammo, and military items. Why chance selling through an auction company to sell your items and get half or much less of the actual value of the item because they did not have the right people looking that day or they just don't reach the collector base that will pay the actual value for the item(s). If the items do not sell for what they should and have discouraging results you will still have to pay them the 20+ percent in auction fees. You might do good on a few items but they will never make up for those that should of went for a lot more.

The local companies that sell everything including guns seem to have disappointing result for firearms and military items for the most part. I get a lot of feedback from customers and dealers that talk about the deals they get at local auction houses. If I had the time I would go. The prices are well below retail and actually below what I would give someone and they are losing the 20% or more on top of that. Crazy! We sell to online bidders nationwide no just local and maybe some generalized online auction site for auctioneers. We have clients in the US that are looking for certain items however when you deal with collectors such as the owner Fred they want everything to be correct and expect our description and photos to prove it. It is the good items that are undersold at the local auctions.

 

If you have firearms in an estate you want to sell go to a place that specializes in firearms not Knick-knacks, household items, tools, dishes, pictures, appliances, and other items. The sell all companies that specialize in nothing but sell everything.

We eat, sleep, and breath firearms and military items. Always researching, learning, and buying out of print books. When you deal with a variety of items and not specialize in one certain type of thing your knowledge is not focused. You may not describe the item correctly or under value the item. Many of the items we get in we own so we have original items to compare to. Being able to just handle original pieces helps immensely.
